Mateo's Restaurant Cafe hosted a fun and exciting blogger's meet-up last November 21, Friday.
Lala Tuazon and Mico Lucena, two of the owners of Mateo's, first introduced the very interesting history behind the restaurant. (You may view the history here.)

First up was the

Gingerbread Decorating Contest c/o Mateo's pastry chefs, Chef Oley and Chef Maea. We were grouped and asked to decorate our own gingerbread house. Whoever won best decoration gets to bring home the gingerbread house they decorated! The competitive spirit of the bloggers were very evident during this contest. Hahaha! I was grouped with Lou, Hershey, and Senorita Kara Gabriel. Here was what our group was able to make. We may not have won, but we sure had loads of fun releasing our creativity!
Next, was another way to release our creativity, but this time through a crafting workshop c/o me! Yes, I, R for Rosey, am also a crafter! (Follow me on Instagram @craftedbysari.)
I actually crochet, but in this case with limited time, I just taught the participants how to wrap their cords (cellphone or external hard drive) creatively and uniquely so they won't get lost or mixed up with other plain ones. Hehe. These designs are actually friendship bracelet designs that may be used to decorate your cords.
There weren't actually that many photos during the session since most of the participants were busy twisting and turning their cords to wrap them and make them look like the bracelets in the image below. :)

Here are some of the key chain/ bag charms I made which were used as prizes after the event. This photo is c/o Des, who I think was the only one able to take photos. Hahaha! Thanks, Des!
Below is the schedule of crochet workshops at Mateo's for those who want to learn a new skill this coming New Year as a New Year's resolution. ;) Limited slots are available, so reserve as early as now!
You may also request friendship bracelet-making workshops, if there are some interested.

And finally, since Mateo's is a Spanish restaurant, we had the pleasure of learning basic Spanish with Senorita Kara Gabriel. We were given handouts and were asked to introduce ourselves in Spanish. We even had to make skits (a.k.a. act!) to practice our Spanish speaking skills. Hahaha!
Senorita Gabriel also does Basic Spanish Language Workshops at Mateo's. Please do check their website for more details on this.

All in all, it was an enjoyable educational event for everyone. A great combination of excellent food, lively company, and cozy ambiance, what more can you ask for?
Now, I leave you with the excellent food that everyone kept talking about. Indulge!
