HER FOOD BITES: Being a dessert-lover, I've always wanted to try Cafe Shibuya which offered a different kind of dessert through their toasts. I tried their signature toast which was the Honey Toast. It was sweet and yummy, but I guess I could have had the baby size instead of the regular one. It became kind of hard to finish, due to its thick bread, even if I already poured lots of honey on it. Then again, maybe it is meant to be shared. :) Comparing it to Army Navy's Freedom Toast, I'd say I prefer the Freedom Toast, which had cinnamon to add to the usual blandness of plain bread. Most probably next time I visit Cafe Shibuya, I'll try the other toast with more flavors or toppings then. Also, since the weather is getting colder, a nice hot cup of a Ghirardelli Chocolate drink would do the trick. :)

HIS FOOD BITES: We dropped by Cafe Shibuya one lazy Sunday afternoon for merienda, I decided to try out their version of the classic Eggs Benedict. Since I am not much of a fan of desserts, I was actually glad that they also served a handful of meals to match their sweet delicatessen. The Shibuya Benedict is really interesting since it uses a breaded deep fried poached egg instead of the typical ho-hum poach. It is served on top of their signature toast in all of its buttery goodness. To add more excitement to the meal, the Shibuya Benedict has shiitake mushrooms, ham and their special homemade japanese mayo. Really tasty indeed! Chips are also served together with the meal. I enjoyed our quick visit to Cafe Shibuya, hopefully they would also add a couple of additional meal choices for their visitors without the typical sweet tooth. Cheers!
About the venue: The venue gives a relaxed home-y feel into it, wood furniture and earth tone colors all around. Just like other restaurants located at the Ayala UP Town Center, there is an allocated parking space for their patrons.
